GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Light coloured appearance suitable for a wide range of stains and finishes.
The grain is straight with a fine, even texture. Excellent physical properties.

WORKING PROPERTIES
It is a wood that machines extremely well. Good nailing and gluing properties. Stains and polishes to a good finish.

DURABILITY
Perishable resistance to fungal decay. Regular resistance to penetration by preservatives.

SEASONING
Dries rapidly with strong tendency to warp, split and surface check. Subject to large dimensional changes when subjected to variations in dried lumber in humidity, checking and discoloration. Moderate movement.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
Beech is classed as hard, heavy, and high in resistance to shock. Good resistance to abrasive wear. Beech wood is considered a grade “A” hardwood. Stronger than oak or maple in many characteristics. Excellent bending characteristics.

Home furnishing, interior joinery, doors, flooring, millwork and panelling.
